The opening lap of the AFT Production Twins final at the Atlanta Super TT saw major drama. Front runner Johnny Lewis suffered a high side coming out of the first turn on his Royal Enfield. Somehow nearly the entire field missed him. Major riding skills were on display. Amazingly Lewis got back in the race and finished fifth.

Here’s a series of shots from the crash. It’s not super clear owing to the corner being a dark part of the track combined with me not using pro gear, instead shooting with a little digicam. Still you get the idea of the crash and how lucky Lewis was to come out OK. — Larry Lawrence
