The late 1980s was perhaps the peak of motorcycle road racing in Canada. During this period many of those top riders came down and found tremendous success in American racing. Duhamel and Crevier won AMA National Championships. Labrosse was a two-time AMA National race winner (in AMA 250 Grand Prix) and McMurter and Mercier were top runners in AMA Road Racing as well.
