In 2001 one of the classes that the Formula USA National Road Race Series featured was the Aprilia Cup Challenge. This photo is from the Aprilia Cup round at Virginia International Raceway in July of 2001. It shows Brian Kcraget (No. 473) leading the way on his Speed Werks Racing-sponsored Aprilia RS250. Coming up on the outside is Jeff Wood (No. 19). Right behind Wood in third is Thad Halsmer (in white helmet). Also giving chase are Dan Fischer (No. 23), Shannon Silva (No. 10) and Derek King (84). Kcraget held off King and Halsmer to take the VIR victory. Wood went on to win the 2001 series championship.
