Thomas Stevens is awarded the coveted No. 1 plate for winning the 1991 AMA Superbike Championship, while his mechanic Jim Leonard accepts the AMA’s Tuner of the Year Award. Stevens and Leonard worked hard to give Yamaha its very first AMA Superbike title that year. Stevens and Leonard were part of the famous Vance & Hines Superbike team managed by Steve Johnson.  The machine that Stevens rode to the championship in ’91 was the Yamaha FZR750RR OW01.
