Doug Polen scored his first AMA national road race victory in the 1987 Daytona 600 Supersport race. Ten years later and Polen stood atop the 750 Supersport podium at Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, taking his final AMA national road race victory. Here Polen celebrates alongside runner up Jason Pridmore (right) and third-place finisher Mark Miller. Miller was later DQ’d for illegal engine modifications making Anthony Lupo third. During that 10-year span Polen won a total of 31 AMA road race nationals in a variety of classes.
