Hooter’s Suzuki rider Mario Martin leads a group of riders in the CCS Amateur Heavyweight Superbike race at Daytona International Speedway in February of 1999. Martin, who hailed from Rockland, Ontario, Canada, went on to win the race over fellow Canadian Chris Murray-Audain. Raife Snover finished third. Following Martin into the International Horseshoe is Kevin Novak (No. 178), Joseph Capelli (No. 317), another rider and then Robert Goudy (No. 79). Interestingly Capelli and Goudy were both from Philadelphia. Martin won a pair of CCS races in the pre-Daytona 200 Bike Week weekend of racing.
