Stanton at Putnam Park (1994)

David Stanton looks up the track as he corners the Team Suzuki Endurance II GSXR1100 at Putnam Park Road Course during the WERA Sunoco/Performance Machine National Endurance Series round five in July of 1994. Stanton was just getting his pro career started at this point and he and teammate Steve Patterson finished second to the primary Team Suzuki Endurance squad of Tray Batey and Michael Martin.  Stanton proved a quick study of the Putnam Park circuit and the next day finished second to Batey in both the 1100 and 750 Superstock races. Stanton went on to have a successful career in the AMA Pro ranks scoring a slew of top-10 finishes in AMA 750 Supersport and Superstock races as well as a few top-10s in AMA 600 Supersport and AMA Superbike. He continued to race after his pro career and scored a number of club racing titles. Unfortunately Stanton’s racing career that ended with a crash in 2013 that left him paralyzed.
