A photo showing the leading group of the AMA Mazda Truck 250 Grand Prix Series race at Pike Peak International Raceway on Sept. 18, 1999. 1998 series champ Roland Sands leads on his No. 1 Performance Machine Yamaha over Chuck Sorensen (No. 90), Randy Renfrow (No. 2), Quenni King (No. 333) and Jeff Vos (No. 7). Sands was injured at Daytona earlier that year ruining his chance to defend his title. But he was able to come back late in the season and proved he could have been a contender by winning this race, which was the ’99 season finale. Sorensen, who finished a conservative third in this race behind Renfrow, won the 250GP championship that season over Derek King and Chris Ulrich.
