Gene Burcham’s motocross background shows through in this shot of him wheelying his Yamaha FZ600 over the jump at Grattan Raceway at a WERA race in July of 1986. Burcham told me the other day he’s hanging up the leathers after this season. The Indianapolis native plans on racing the upcoming MotoAmerica race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway during the Red Bull Indianapolis GP weekend. Congrats to Gene for a great racing career that has spanned four different decades.
