Juan Garriga: Life in the Fast Lane

The Eagles tune “Life in the Fast Lane” could have been written about this guy, Juan Garriga. He burned the candle on both ends as they say. A racer, who had a very racy life off the track as well complete with drug trafficking and possessing illegal weapons as part of his portfolio. This photo was from 1986 when Garriga was a factory rider with Cagiva. Garriga scored a couple of top-10 finishes that year for the Italian maker. He was better known for his skills on the 250s. He finished runner-up to Sito Pons in the 1988 250cc Grand Prix World Championships, taking three wins along the way.
