Sito Pons celebrates his victory at the center of the podium after winning the Austrian 250cc Grand Prix at Salzburgring in June of 1989. He is joined on the box by second place Jacques Cornu (left) of Switzerland and West Germany’s Martin Wimmer. Pons was on a winning streak when this shot was taken. This was his third consecutive 250GP victory and he would win the next round in Yugoslavia to make it four in a row. He went on to earn the 250GP world title for the second time.
