High, Wide and Handsome

A beautiful flat track racing photo from the lens of Henny Ray Abrams shows Ted Boody, Jr. (No. 12) taking the high line on his Harley-Davidson XR750 around the York Half-Mile during an AMA regional flat track race in May of 1981. Coming up in second is Billy Schaeffer (No. 96) riding the inside line. Running not far behind in third and fourth are Ricky Campbell (No. 82) and Willie Crabbe (No. 46). York is a limestone Half-Mile that produces the long broadslides where riders control the arch of their turns by the twist of the throttle.
