Eric Phillippe leads a pair of riders that includes Jim Whitaker (No. 63) in the 1989 Daytona Pro Twins (Battle of the Twins) race. Phillippe raced his Midway Cycles Ducati F1 to a sixth-place finish that day. Whitaker finished ninth on his Kawasaki EX500. Phillippe was a regular top-10 BOTT Modified Class finisher in the mid-to-late 1980s. He scored a podium (third) at Road Atlanta in 1988.
