(NEWS RELEASE)
Classes include AHRMA Cross-country, Motocross, and Trials, and Promoter Added Vintage Classes
New Berlin, NY (March 25, 2014)- MX Rewind, one of the premier vintage and off road racing events in America, returns to Unadilla MX on May 30-June 1. It’s a busy weekend filled with motocross history for racers and fans alike — and for which features three full days of vintage racing, including AHRMA vintage cross-country and the addition of AHRMA Observed Trials. The weekend kicks off with Friday’s cross-country and trials events, which are both a great start to the weekend and enjoy Unadilla’s diverse hills and its natural elevation changes.
Motocross racing begins on Saturday and will be on the famous Unadilla pro racetrack, which is only slightly reworked to accommodate vintage bikes. Over thirty AHRMA vintage motocross classes will race both motos on Saturday. In addition to AHRMA vintage classes on Saturday, Unadilla will run the first moto for nine promoter support classes to allow those with bikes from 1998 or earlier the chance to add to the excitement. For children of racers who don’t have a vintage bike but don’t want to give up a weekend of racing, included in the support classes are three modern classes just for them. Also on Saturday will be the reworked Team Cup Challenge, which is based on a four racer team led by a former MX legend as team captain. On Sunday, over thirty AHRMA post-vintage classes begin their assault on Unadilla, as will the second moto for the promoter added classes, making it another equally busy day of racing.
Pre-entry and post-entry is available for all racing classes at MX Rewind. All AHRMA classes do require that the racer be either a full or weekend member of AHRMA. However, to pre-enter an AHRMA class, you do need to be a full member. Anyone who wants a weekend AHRMA membership can join at the track but will need to post enter the AHRMA classes. Unadilla promoter support classes do not require any memberships. They can be pre-entered or post-entered. We have placed a link to the MX Rewind racing information on the event website — http://www.mxrewind.com . By clicking on this link, you will find more information about AHRMA classes, Unadilla promoter support classes, and the links to the pre-entry sites for all AHRMA and promoter support classes.
AHRMA does have their rulebook on-line at http://www.ahrma.org to help you find where your bike fits and what changes can or cannot be made. If you have any questions, we encourage you to use the AHRMA “contact us” button and email their National Off-Road Director.
The racing action is all set but there is more to MX Rewind than just racing. Fifteen former legends of motocross will be there, bench racing, swap meet, bike shows, meet and greets, autograph sessions, nightly entertainment, gab sessions, and just good times with old friends makes it a fun filled weekend. Whether you are a racer or a fan, MX Rewind will keep you talking.
