Rick Shaw leads a three-way battle joined by Randy Texter and Dr. Dave Kieffer powering out of Daytona International Speedway’s International Horseshoe during the 1987 Daytona 200.  Shaw was racing a South Dade Yamaha sponsored Yamaha FZ750, Texter on a Penn State Cycles Suzuki GSXR750 and Kieffer on the Rough Stock Racing Honda VFR750. In a field of 80 riders there were a lot of mini-battles that day. Kieffer came out on top in this trio of riders, finishing 20^th, Texter was 39^th and Shaw was 52^nd. Unfortunately we lost both Shaw and Texter in recent years, both great racers who will never be forgotten.
