Jamie Worthington as a Novice

One of the good things about posting all these photos from old races is that people write in to to say, “Hey that’s me!” Another fun thing is I often caught riders in their formative years – take this shot for example. This is Jamie Worthington racing as a novice at Blackhawk Farms Raceway during a WERA Sprint event in June of 1991. Jamie, who hails from Troy, Michigan, went on to be a regular on the AMA Pro tour, racing 600 Supersport on a Honda before getting an Aprilia and moving to the AMA 250 Grand Prix Championship throughout the rest of the 1990s. It was on his Aprilia that he scored his career best results of 12th at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin in 1999.
