RAW Racing totally dominated the Lightweight class of the 1989 WERA/EBC Brakes National Endurance Series. The team rode their Yamaha FZR400 to many class victories and often raced among frontrunners in the overall on the tighter circuits. RAW had wrapped up the championship at Indianapolis Raceway Park and didn’t race the season finale at the GNF, but the team did show up for the awards banquet. Here the team accepts awards (from left) Steve Patterson, Kirk Reuille, Kevin Rentzell and Alan Bertagnoli.

Bertagnoli was pretty much untouchable in the Lightweight classes on his FZR400 up at Blackhawk.

Ahh, the FZR400! How they’re missed by those lucky few that knew ’em, eh?

I never had the privilege, but riders definitely went fast on them. Still a legendary bike of that era.
