JD Beach on the No. 95 Burnett Farms Racing/Red Bull Kawasaki EX650, leads Lloyd Brothers Harley-Davidson mounted Henry Wiles (No. 17), Latus Motor Triumph’s Johnny Lewis (No. 10) and Kiesow Racing Harley-Davidson mounted Jeffrey Carver (No. 23) during a Heat race at the 2013 Indy Mile. The race was held during the Indiana State Fair, and you can see some of the rides lit up in the background. While Beach, Wiles and Carver work the groove, Lewis was running into the turns hard and had his Triumph up in the cushion. Beach won the Heat over Wiles and Shawn Baer. Sharp-eyed photographers will note the dual flash unit set up by another photographer to light up the action at the historic, but dimly lit Indy Mile. Some say photographers flashes can temporarily blind riders, but most riders report the flash doesn’t bother them. Maybe in the old days when the duration of a flash was long and intense, but modern flash units produce flash that lasts just thousandths of a second, not long enough to blind you.

I wonder if Yamaha could build a flat tracker for Beach based off the Yamaha Super Ténéré?
