  1. Hey Larry, you ever check out Meadowdale in Illinois? It closed back in the late 60’s, but most of the track is still there, used as a Park District trail. Definitely the wildest track I’ve ever seen. I can’t believe they raced bikes on that track. Safety was definitely the last thing on their mind when they laid it out, but it sure was cool.

    Yes I’ve been to the site of Meadowdale and did a story on the track recently for Cycle News.

    They used to have a big banked turn called the Monza Turn and it was the first high-baked course AMA national road racers ever raced on.

  3. Larry,I spoke with Doug Showler today and he told me the 250 event at Nelson Ledges was the only 250 National stand alone event ever held. Awesome website!
