It was not a good day for Bob Shuptrine during a WERA regional at Talladega Gran Prix Raceway on June 21, 1987.Shuptrine lost control and hit the ground, while his Kawasaki Ninja 600R slides across the tarmac and slams into Ricky Slagel’s Yamaha FZ600. Fortunately things settled out better than they appear in this photo. Shuptrine was OK and Slagel kept right on racing and finished the race.
