This was just a few weeks before the WERA GNF and most of the riders who raced that wet weekend were either Michigan locals, top-level factory contingency chasers (like this trio) or riders making last ditch efforts to earn the points to get an invite to the GNF. It was no surprise if you hold a race in central Michigan in October these kinds of conditions are what you might expect. Polen won the race.
