Chris Carr receives a special Lifetime Achievement award from Bert Sanders of the Peoria Motorcycle Club during the 2011 edition of the prestigious Peoria TT. His longtime mechanic Kenny Tolbert is holding Carr’s bike. Over the years Carr became known as the Prince of Peoria. His record at Peoria is stunning. He won 13 nationals at the track, by far the most of any rider. He made his first appearance there as a rookie in 1985 and finished on the podium (third). He won his first national there in 1986. And then after finishing runner up a couple of years to Bubba Shobert he started the longest winning streak in the history of the race, winning every race from 1988 to 1995 – eight straight. His winning streak may well have been longer, but he left to concentrate on Superbike racing as a factory Harley-Davidson rider for a few years. He actually won every race he appeared in at Peoria for 12 straight years.
