Tom Houseworth, Cal Rayborn III and Bill Spencer have a laugh before the start of the 1989 Daytona 600 Supersport race. Houseworth was working as Rayborn’s mechanic at the time. “Big Bill” was the announcer at many West Coast AMA nationals and one of the most adored personalities in the sport. Rayborn had an excellent race at Daytona, earning a podium finish, just behind John Kocinski and Jeff Farmer. Houseworth, of course, went on to become a world championship winning crew chief for Ben Spies.
