A longtime motorcycle buddy John Wray sent me this classic photo of three of Indiana’s best racers from the 1940s. John wrote: Attached is a picture of my dad just before he left for Daytona Beach in 1948. The guy on the left is Rody Rodenberg on a factory BMW that he had prior to WW2 and just kept. He also set a transcontinental record in 1935 or1936 of 71 hrs+. The middle guy is Ralph Moore on a 45 cu in Indian. He owned Indiana Cycle Sales in Indy until his death. The one on the right is my dad (Ed Wray) on a 1947 Matchless. This picture was in the Indianapolis Times or Indianapolis News – byline “Motorcycle Daredevils Prepare for Daytona” or something to that order. Thought you might like it.
