Indianapolis area rider Doug Sholty races his Suzuki GSXR750 on his way to a second-place finish behind Bob Sandy in a WERA B Superbike Novice in April of 1988. Sholty owned a graphics design company and one of his jobs was to design and produce the graphics for Indy Car teams, so it was no surprise that his race bikes always were among the best looking machines on the track. But Sholty wasn’t all show and no go. He developed into one of the faster and most consistent riders in WERA North Central region during the late 1980s and early ‘90s.
