Andrew at Road Atlanta

Carry Andrew leads a group of riders that includes Phil Berke (No. 145), Rick Shaw (No. 181) and Rueben McMurter (No. 24) out of the final turn at Road Atlanta during the AMA Superbike race there in May of 1987. Andrew raced Superbikes throughout the 1980s and scored a slew of top-10 finishes, including a career-best fifth at Laguna Seca in 1980. He then went on to found Hyper-Cycle, one of the leading racing teams of the 1990s and early 2000s.

  1. Carry was a lot better rider than most people (and press) gave him credit for. In a 3 hour endurance race at Mid-Ohio he lapped the field on a mostly wet track on slicks. A very impressive ride indeed.
