Pantah in the Puddles

Charles Lang races his beautiful Ducati Pantah 500 SL in the rain at Indianapolis Raceway Park during a WERA Sprint race in April of 1985. You’ve got to hand it to Lang, not a lot of people would have the audacity to race such a nice motorcycle in the rain. Notice the belt-drive covers are off the engine, yet the taillight is still attached. A year after this photo was taken Lang scored a podium in the Lightweight Modified class of the AMA Battle of the Twins National at Road America.
