Gaynor Hits the Hairpin

Canadian Jeff Gaynor leads a group of riders through the hairpin turn at Indianapolis Raceway Park during a WERA sprint event in April of 1989. Gaynor was a very fast rider from the Toronto area, who raced mainly in Canadian events, but would occasionally cross the border and turn in some seriously impressive rides. I recall him beating Kurt Hall in a Suzuki contingency race at Roebling Road, a track that Hall had dialed. At IRP on this weekend Gaynor won the WERA B Production Expert race on his Suzuki GSXR. He must have felt right at home in the frosty early spring conditions. If I recall correctly there was snow during some of the events that weekend. I’m not certain who the other riders are in this shot. If you know leave a comment.
