Texan Gregg Abbott leads Bruce Baldus and Tray Batey in what probably is the Suzuki GSXR1100 Cup Final at the 1991 WERA Grand National Final. Abbott was running well inside the top ten in the race and then fell back. I’m not sure if he had mechanical problems, ran off the track or what, but he eventually finished 16^th. That was about the only downside to Abbott’s ’91 GNF. That weekend he won the A Production Championship and then finished second to Thomas Wilson in the Formula Open class, after leading early in the race. Also visible in the photo are Dean Mizdal (No. 12) and Chris Haldane (No. 7).
