Jamie James races his Suzuki GSXR750 at Blackhawk Farms Raceway during a WERA Sprint race in September of 1987. James was traveling to club races across the country chasing Suzuki contingency money and taking the time to race some AMA Pro events too. I think it was a pretty big surprise when James showed up at Blackhawk for this race. Jamie looks like he’s really searching for some traction on the polished pavement of Blackhawk. If memory serves I think local favorite John Eidenberger might have taken this race over James, but Jamie came back a month later and won the WERA B Production title at the WERA Grand National Final at Road Atlanta. This from the Greg Sickmeier Collection.

I seem to recall Jamie doing similar at Loudon- racing at the “national warmup” club races the week before the Loudon Classic.
