South Carolinian Kevin Hunt races his Stokes Saab/Lockhart Racing Suzuki GSXR750 ahead of Chip Terrell in the 1991 Daytona 200. Hunt was a leading club racer in the mid-1980s, winning an AMA/CCS National title in 1985. He later made occasional forays into pro racing through the mid-1990s. After his racing career Hunt became known for building some of the fastest privateer Superbikes in AMA via KWS Motorsports. Mat Mladin (defending the legality of his Yoshimura Suzuki when it was suspected of utilizing traction control before it was allowed) once pointed out that one of Hunt’s KWS Superbikes, ridden by Shawn Higbee, was faster on the straights than his factory rig. Hunt finished 35th in the 1991 Daytona 200, Terrell was 37th.
