The front row readies for the start of the 1993 Daytona 200 by Arai. On the far right is pole winner Scott Russell on the Muzzy Kawasaki. The other front-row starters included Camel Honda’s Mike Smith (No. 68), Fast by Ferracci Ducati’s Pascal Picotte (No. 21) and maybe a surprise front-row qualifier Steve Crevier on what I believe was a Canadian factory support Kawasaki. Behind the front row you can see Aaron Slight (No. 62) on another factory Muzzy Kawasaki and Jacques Guenette (No. 39) on a Yamaha Canada entry. Russell lost the race that day by inches to Eddie Lawson on a factory Vance & Hines Yamaha, but he went on to win the World Superbike Championship later that season.
