I just came across this photo in some old negatives that I don’t think I’d ever noticed before. I love this image, which shows a very young Jason Pridmore running his CLASS Racing Suzuki GSXR1100 around the outside of the Yamaha FZR400 of Team Dreaded in during a Kerker/SBS WERA National Endurance race at Grattan Raceway in July of 1990. At the time Pridmore was just 20 years old and still better known as the son of three-time AMA Superbike Champion Reg Pridmore. He was just getting his pro road racing career underway. I’m not sure who is riding for Team Dreaded in this photo. I believe the team was made up of riders Matt Winnacker and David Stevens. Both of them were very fast on their nimble FZR400, especially at the technical Grattan circuit, and the fact that Pridmore is charging around the outside of the little FZR on a big, heavy GSXR1100, on a very tight turn no less, shows you how aggressive and confident of a rider Pridmore was, even at this early stage of his career.
