Buzzy Clevenger and I raced together all year in 1989 and had some great races that year. In this picture he is in fourth and I am in tenth. This was a wild race with a pile up just about every lap under the bridge. He could not believe that he had won. We were so excited about him winning and me finishing in third that we both felt like crap the next morning. We were also best friends away from the track and were all about having a good time.

Van,
Thanks for the story. Yep, racing hard and then having a good time afterwards. That’s how I remember those days too.
