Jeff Farmer leads fellow Floridian John Ashmead in their battle for the 1989 Road America 600 Supersport final. This photo was taken at turn seven as the riders try to get a good drive into Hurry Downs. Farmer held off Ashmead to take the victory that day in Elkhart Lake. Note the lowers are removed from Farmer’s Yamaha FZ600, while Ashmead’s FZ is fully faired.  Ashmead won later that year in Topeka, but it was Scott Zampach who ultimately earned the title.
