Many people think of Nick Ienatsch as a motorcycle journalist or perhaps recall his exploits in AMA 250 Grand Prix racing. What they may not remember was the dominant performance the then Motorcyclist magazine editor turned in during the 1989 WERA Grand National Final. Ienatsch came in from California and spanked most of the East Coast riders in the small-bike classes at the GNF. In all he won three championships that year. Ienatsch won both the Clubman Expert (pictured) and the Formula 3 Expert class handily. The biggest challenged he faced was in D Superbike where Nick earned a hard-fought victory over Bobby Van Nessen and Michael Martin.
