Tony Rauseo has a look of sheer concentration in his eyes as he corners the Motion Systems Racing Honda CBR600 F2 during a SBS/PM WERA National 6-Hour Endurance at Indianapolis Raceway Park in October of 1991. Rauseo was teamed with Chris Hughes and Mike Leslie and they finished a very close second that day to Dunn Racing in the Mediumweight Production class. That class was an incredible battle that year with Motion Systems battling to the final round with Team Swine Dudes and Archlight Racing. Motion Systems came out on top in the end. Check out this shot of Rauseo at an AMA Superbike race four years earlier. It appears he’s wearing the same gear. Look what a couple of seasons of endurance racing can do to your leathers!

You’ve completely misinterpreted the look in Tony’s eye. After battling wheel to wheel with him that same year at a Nelson Ledges 6-hour, I went over to his pit to tell him how much I enjoyed our competing against each other. He responded by saying, “Was that you? I’m so blind I couldn’t tell who I was racing against.”

Ha! Good story. So it was “stay between the green stuff” for old Tony.
