Frank Rounds was good enough to send us a batch of his photos from the 1984 Harrington (Del.) AMA Grand National Half-Mile. The race was won by Terry Poovey. This photo essay brings back great memories and I send a big thanks to Frank for sharing his photos.

Great photos! I could look at these all day long. The unidentified rider “A2” is the late Paul Crumling of Pro Plates. I did not know that he tried riding a 480 two stroke in his Champion Frame as a Junior. A great guy and good rider. Thanks again.

I’ve wished this track was back on the schedule for years now. Rain was usually it’s downfall. The last time it ran the Expert Final was lined up when the rain came down. Rats, another 150 mile ride home in the rain on the bike. Still I’d do it again if they’d run it. Good racing always. Thank you.

You say Terry Poovey won…but did you mean Ted Boody? I don’t see any #18 pix.

Larry,
Yeah I was surprised there were no shots of Poovey. Maybe he ran off and hid. It was Poovey though.
