In a press conference call today Nicky Hayden said he hoped to continue racing motorcycles even after his GP career is over. Even though he said he feels he still has a number of years to go in MotoGP, Hayden freely admits that he might like to return to AMA Grand National racing to take care of some “unfinished business”.
“I love what I do now,” Hayden said. “It would be more fun if I was closer to the front, but I don’t know what’s next. I hope it’s something that involves motorcycles, but we’re not planning that far out yet.
When asked if he would anticipate racing other types of motorcycles once his GP career was done he didn’t hesitate.
“It’s real possible,” he said of continuing to race motorcycles post-GP. “I mean I love motorcycles and racing. If I’m healthy… in dirt track racing there are a few little things that are left unfinished there that I’d like another crack at. There’s worse jobs in the world than riding a motorcycle. Hopefully I don’t have to get a nine to five, but I mean, definitely it’s possible (that he’ll continue racing).”
