You may be aware of the AMA Grand Slam, that’s a rider winning all four forms of AMA Grand National racing (Mile, Half-Mile, TT and Short Track) plus a road race national. The Slam dates back to the days when all five forms of racing were used to determine the AMA’s Grand National Champion. Only four riders – Dick Mann, Kenny Roberts, Bubba Shobert and Doug Chandler – have won the mythical Grand Slam of motorcycle racing. But Chandler stands alone as the only rider to win the “AMA Super Slam”. Chandler uniquely won all five forms of racing for the Grand Slam, plus an AMA Supermoto National. This photo is of Chandler preparing for an AMA Supermoto National in downtown Columbus, Ohio in October of 2003.

Man, he could win on anything, couldn’t he!? Great rider and a super nice guy at that. This was one win I missed over the years, not realizing he took one of these. Very cool!
