Does anyone out there remember Hooker Headers? They were all the rage in the early 1970s. Here’s a 1971 Hooker Headers ad featuring off-road racing legend Malcolm Smith. I don’t know how long Hooker continued to make motorcycle exhausts. I think are still around in the automotive market.

YES, had one on my XR-75 as a kid and then went to a Bassani a little while later when a bent the Hooker beyond repair in a major(for me) get-off/endo.

Man, we sold the dog poop out of Hooker Headers in ’73-’74 when I worked for Sunday Rider Accessories over on 16th St across from IMS. Everybody wanted Hookers for the 750 SOHOs and the Z1 Kaws. If you used the term ‘Hookers’ around the general public today you’d probably get arrested, but around the bike crowd-especially the old hosses like us–everybody would go ‘yeah, I remember those, man!’
