Harth Leads 1988 Suzuki Cup

Mike Harth leads Doug Polen in the early laps of the 1988 Suzuki Cup Finals during the WERA Grand National Finals at Road Atlanta in November of 1988. This was the GSX-R1100 final and Harth led the early laps before Polen drafted past him. Harth held on and the two pulled away from the rest of the field. Jamie James was battling with Scott Russell over third. The duo’s battle brought them right up to Harth and James was able to get by on the final lap to steal second. Polen won $5000 for winning, James $3000 for second and Harth $2000 for third.
