This is an unidentified AMA press kit photo. I believe the shot is from 1976 since that appears to be Gary Scott with the No. 1 on his helmet. For sure you can see Kenny Roberts (No. 2) on the factory Yamaha on the far side. I’m pretty certain that’s David Aldana in the all white helmet wearing his Superman leathers. I’m not certain of the other three riders in the photo. In anyone knows leave a message here below of on the Facebook page.

Hi Larry, The 84x is Ted Boody. The blue helmet next to Roberts is 74z Steve Eklund. Not sure of the last one bit it looks like 24. If so it’s Bubba Rush.

I was there in 1976. 84X Boody, 74z Ecklund OK. Did Bubba Rush have #24 or had Jim Rice gone back to that number? Rice had 2@ in 1971, the only season that AMA numbered riders in order of points standing s 1970. I thought the entire time Rice rode the XR,he wore H-D factory leathers. By the way, that year Gary Scott had #1, had relocated to Springfield, OH and his bikes were tuned by Carl Patrick, then of Enon, OH.
