Racers’ Study Time

A couple of racers stand at the fence and check out AMA Pro Singles rider Levi Mayer taking a corner during practice for the Springfield TT last month. You often see top riders getting just a little bit of an edge on the competition by taking in some of the practice sessions trackside and studying the lines other riders are taking. These guys take mental notes and then use them when it’s their time to be on the track.  I like this photo because it tells the story of part of what it takes to be a great rider. It’s not only on the track, but the preparation off the track that can make a major difference when riders are separated by just hundredths of a second.
