Marchino Leads Hot WERA Supersport Battle

Some of the best racing in WERA’s North Central Region in the early 1990s came in C Superstock. This photo at Putnam Park in Mt. Meridian, Indiana, shows the typical tight battles the class produced. Leading the pack is David Marchino on a Yamaha FZR600. Directly behind Marchino is Reuben Frankenfield on his No. 35 Honda CBR600. Bill Sweeney (I think that’s him behind Frankenfield) eventually moved to the front late in the race to take the win over Frankenfield. Early leader Marchino finished fourth.

  1. Lived up the street from Dave as a kid and after college started racing together. Dave was always a front runner with those guys and enjoyed the racing. I have really missed racing with Dave and his great friendship.
