Will Roeder 1959-2011
Will Roeder died this past weekend of ALS. He was 52. Will was the oldest son of the famous Roeder clan from Monroeville, Ohio. His dad was the great AMA Grand National racer George Roeder. Will and his younger brothers Jess and George II “Geo” were all successful national-level racers. Will left flat track and motocross and went into road racing because he suffered severe arthritis. He won two national titles in the Battle of the Twins stock class and he was the overall series champ in 1984. He later had good success in the Harley-Davidson 883 Sportster road race series. Our condolences go out to the Roeder family. You can read more here about Will and the funeral arrangements in this obituary I did for Cycle News. I have a photo album of Will here. Thanks to his family for sharing these photos.
