Rain: The Great Equalizer

Robbie Petersen and Fritz Kling battle on a wet Grattan Raceway during round five of the 1990 WERA Formula USA National Series. With a wet track Petersen was able to run in front in spite of racing a Yamaha TZ250 against Kling’s American Eagle Racing Yoshimura Suzuki GSXR Superbike built for Jay Springsteen. Petersen’s bike began to run on one cylinder late in the race and Kling motored ahead to finish second to Rich Oliver, Petersen’s teammate on the Marlboro/Roberts Yamaha squad. Oliver was also on a TZ250.
