Former racing mechanic Marshall Rautmann was kind enough to send yet another batch of photos he snapped at the races back in the 1980s and early ‘90s. I love this kind of stuff and I hope you enjoy them as well. Marshall tuned for some fast WERA riders back in the day such as Brian French, Dean Joas, David Klosterman, and John Eidenberger. Hi Larry,
My favorite of all these is the last one. Scott Zampach with the supersport bike. I most remember him from his H-D 883 days but he did so much more. I’m thinking you or someone did a feature on him ? If not, I think you should. On and off the track, he was a class act.

I was at Scotts first race with his 500 intercepter Blackhawk
If i remember right he took riders school on friday
He worked Saturday at car dealer
So he was gridded last in sunday middleweight novice race
Probably around 60 bikes maybe two waves
I cant remember exactly his finish but it was really high maybe even a win
