Good piece, but as I read it, other than the Roger saga (which I watched from afar, having seen Roger in action many years ago, I started thinking about the deeper issues facing AMA Roadracing.
Take a look at NASCAR, slipping fan base, maybe some similar issues with loss of focus (all the same car).
The recession has impacted sponsors, but with recovery underway, is that all?
Demographics – where are the fans?
Playing with their X-Box’s? texting?
For sure, I don’t have answers, but do have questions.
Can we ever get the excitement back?
