(NEWS RELEASE)
Hendersonville, North Carolina: Tony Gallo, a privateer racer doing his first full season in the AMA Supercross series, stepped up his game by qualifying solidly for the night show at Anaheim 2, earning 30th position, on his Öhlins equipped Honda. Only 40 riders make into the night show of Heat Races, LCQ and Final, and this marks Gallo’s highest position in the field of qualifiers to date.
Gallo was clocked with a best lap time of 1:01.599, less than 1.5 seconds from the time of the 20th qualifier, showing how close Gallo was to making it to a preferred staring position for his night’s Heat Race, ever moving forward in his huge challenge of getting to the final.
In Gallo’s Heat Race, he continued his consistent run, finishing 14th on his Honda CRF450R, just five places from making it into his first final; his best heat race finish. Öhlins USA congratulates Gallo on his results, that show how effective Öhlins suspension can be in assisting a kid with chasing a dream.
Stacey Berger, Öhlins Motorcycle Off Road Racing Manager, said, “We can’t be more proud of Tony for these results. Some people don’t realize how hard it is to be one of the top-20 riders in the country in Supercross, especially for a privateer in his first full season. We can’t wait until the next race. We’re buzzing”
